Keeping it Simple

My computer has a bad case of 'slow' so this post is short.

Last autumn I scattered poppy and Love in the Mist seeds as for a few weeks I aspired to create a 'cutting' garden.....

This is my first 'arrangement'

Even at this elemental level it is very satisfying to grow your own.

The poppies are enormous - like giant pom poms.

  7. Love-in-a-mist - what a wonderfully romantic name and such a beautiful colour. You're right, growing your own cutting flowers is so satisfying. I'm currently picking sweet williams from my garden for the kitchen table - they last for ages, and you can just nip out for some more when they're done! Perfect.

i am still aspiring to a cutting garden, another year passes me by and the plot is still overgrown with weeds and a bit of rubhard...

  11. I's exciting growing your own from seeds isn't it, every year I intend to sow flower seeds and never get around to it but I'm growing a few veggies this year (tomatoes, strawberries, chillis) and have seem to have discovered my green fingers :)

  12. Those poppies are fantastic! I've never managed to get Love-in-a-mist to grow in my garden, I think the slugs must like it, i keep trying because it's so pretty.
Poppies are my favourite flower, if you ever fancied doing a seed swap I could send you some some yellow orange and red poppy seeds... and hopefully some big red ones too, it's the first time I've grown the big red ones, they haven't flowered yet but they're looking very healthy.

  14. hi gigibird!

I have lots of love-in-a-mist, it self-seeds itself everywhere, so gorgeous

I hope you don't mind if I shamelessly promote my latest blog post which is shamelessly promoting a new crafty charity project - please read it and if you feel able help advertise (or contribute in any other way) that would be FAB
