Long Time

Long time no post.
Computer problems continue - dodgy modem.
Another trip to lovely Lewes.
If you arrive at 8am you will have no problem parking or getting a table at the famous Bill's.

Photo: The early worm has the car park to themselves
However when the bookshop doesn't open at 9am like it says on the website much gnashing of teeth takes place until 10:30 when owner finally arrived.

Photo:Lovely lupins - £2 per plant!
For years my husband resisted my pleas to visit Lewes but since his discovery of a military bookshop I can’t keep him away.

Photo: The shop with no name.....I plan a visit next time I'm there for coffee and cake

  4. Missed you while your computer was having a mind of it's own. That little no name store looks very interesting, I would love to have a look inside.

  5. We love going to Lewes and always pay a visit to Bills, for the fish finger butty, and finish off with a fairy cake. There's also a nice little cafe/deli down the hill past Flint and the Church antiques shop with a cute little courtyard.

  7. The shop with no name looks very interesting - no doubt lots of lovely delicacies inside! I was in Aberfeldy the other day and there was a shop enigmaticly called The Shop - turned out it sold meat pies, filled rolls and not much else!

  8. I have just re found you via my lovely friend 'Mouse'...I was green with envy that you visited Charleston ...I have some beautiful books about the house and I often pour over it...one day one day....I have enjoyed reading all your posts...I wish I could buy a few of those lupins...the rotten slugs have eaten all mine in my newely created lupin patch....now without lupins!!

  9. Those lupins are gorgeous! But, your car looks a bit lonely in the parking lot. Still, the early bird...
