Gigibird goes Medieval

Our last day out took us to Ightham Mote (pronounced I-tem) in kent.

To be honest when Nigel suggested we go I wasn’t all that enthusiastic I thought it’s a trip out…..but it is absolutely stunning.

I want a moat, I can see the attraction

Harry wants a Grade 1 listed kennel

My birds want to live in here….

  1. Goodness you have been the Happy Wanderers this week! I think a moat would be just the project for this Bank Holiday weekend. You'll have it finished by Monday night and can put your feet up secure in the knowledge that the portcullis will keep out unwanted visitors...

  4. Oooh all this going out and about has produced such lovely pictures! That moat is gorgeous - does one have to clean out a moat? Actually, I know the answer to that because I heard on the news that one of those greedy MPs claimed expenses for having his cleaned out. I'd consider having a moat if I didn't have to clean it out - that bit kind of puts me off.

  8. That looks amazing! It is such a great feeling being surrounded by so much history. When visiting places like this I try and find a quiet spot to be by myself and then spend a wee while constructing a fantasy about living there! I spent rather a long time in Henry James' garden in Rye.
