Another year older.....

Yes well I turned 44 on Monday – Stella did as well – sorry Stella for telling everyone how old you are – we had a day in Guildford where we pondered life and flexed the plastic (but were both restrained) We returned late afternoon so we were in time to cook the dinner ……………….
Yesterday my pond plants arrived from Broomfield Aquatics. I was very impressed with how the plants were wrapped, almost everything can and was recycled apart from the sticky tape and the plastic bags the plants came in. They had packed out the box with old newspapers so while I was sorting them into the recycling bin I can across this article from the Daily Star no less about being green in the bedroom – it is so funny I felt I must share it with you all…

My mind is still boggling at Veg Porn – believe it or not curiosity hasn’t yet got the better of me but I feel it’s only a matter of time…
Anyway I have planted all my pond plants and now just hope they thrive, don’t look too gaudy (most of them seem to be variegated and I don’t like variegated) although I choose the white small pond selection I have come across the word gold rather too often – gold= yellow in my world and I don’t like yellow; still with plastic frogs and a stone dog (found down the beach) I somehow think my little pond is never going to be an oasis of anything but dubious taste.

  1. You must go and see the site... and then report back because, of course, I am too shy, inexperienced and (ahem) innocent to understand it anyway. Then you can explain it all to me and be awarded the position of Vice Captain of the bloggers!

  3. Yep Lynn you are designated chief veg porn scout -

Jo who helps me in the garden is a pond plant person - her husband makes beautiful swimming ponds for trendy hardy types and she does the planting.

Earlier this year my tunnel was full of water lilies.
I sort of forgive water plants for being yellow - we have marsh marigolds in the swamp and they look fine (as do buttercups, aconites and dandelions in my opinion.
Anyway I am worried that the mass worshiping of yellow this year is turning my head - This afternoon I am going to post a photo of a bunch of yellow flowers which I made up and loved.
Happy birthday fellow Taurean. Greedy, stubborn, loyal . . .?

Happy Birthday! I love it when I receive packages that use shredded paper for packing cause I can recycle those, the only thing I can do with peanuts is re-use them.
Your pond looks lovely, I'm still working on mine so I haven't even thought of plants yet.

How can you have got to 44 without knowing about veg porn!?!
I suppose there is a website for every preference, thank goodness I've never stumbled across veg porn when searching for tips on improving my cucumbers!

  6. Hello all

I had a quick look at the Veg Porn website - rather harmless, hairy women and young men or older ones with pot bellies, but it's American. Naked people make me laugh. No one looked exploited though.

I'd love one of those 'natural' swimming pools if I had a huge garden.
