I'm Back

Just returned from a short break to Belgium.

I know it's a bit sad but we went to Ypes(Ieper) again. (brief holiday history - we go every year....)

It rained a lot and I resorted to pinning my trousers up with safety pins to stop them dragging in the puddles. Crocs are great in the rain by the way.

  1. We went to Belgium for the first time this year and I loved it. We visited the Tyne Cot cemetery (hope I spelt it correctly), and found it very moving. (Too moving to take a knitted monkey to, hence no photos on my blog)

I hope your charity shop raincoat held up!

  2. Tyne Cot is very moving - I think it's the scale that overwhelms...not good for a sensitive monkey.
Charity shop raincoat stayed at home as I found a fantastic 'creation' from Hawkshead just in the nick of time.

  6. The verbena is beautiful - I always think of it as a very spiritual plant anyway, because of the lightness I suppose.
    Poor neglected charity shop mac.

  14. Hi Lynn, hope you enjoyed your trip to Belgium, when we visited we found the locals so friendly, have you found that? How beautifully tended this cemetery is and I love how they use flowers around the memorial stones, a place which looks peaceful to remember those who so bravely gave up their lives in the great war.

  15. I forgot to say I was disappointed you didn't get to use your charity shop purchase, will it be going back to whence it came?
