Find of the Month

Boden at Oxfam

£6.99 I think it was £60 new. Still had its spare button attached so I don't think it has been worn.

What I like about charity shop clothes, apart from the price of course is how once clothes are donated they loose their status. I am not buying into the Boden lifestyle because my cardigan came from Oxfam - does that make sense?

  2. Well done - fabulous 'find'. I've been wearing a gorgeous cashmere sweater all winter that I found in the local Save The Children shop. You can't beat a bit of thrifting, can you? x

  4. ohhh, lovely. I know what you mean, mum bought me a suede gap bag from the charity shop last month for £3, so much better than buying it full price, and your donating to charity too, double smugness!

  5. I love the feeling of making use of something that someone else didn't want (even better than the charity shop is getting it from the jumble for 20p!)
    What a lovely colour.

What a great find! Well done you! Actually that's one of the things I miss about being here, the charity shops. The UK do them so well. We have the Sally Bash here in each town but NZer's attitude is 'make use of everything you have' so very little get's given away.
    Look at your garden!!!!!!
Have just seen the photos of Tennyson on Flickr. He's just so beautiful and looks as content as. I'll always be grateful to you and Stella for adopting him. He's really lucky.

  10. No way! Unless you leave the Oxfam label swinging from the back, people will definitely think you're a Boden girl!

    .... *sigh* .... Boden ....

    :)

  11. I'm with Monkee - you need to make an ironic "I am not a Boden shopper" label for the back,
When she was a toddler I used to dress Zoe in (very) cut price Kenzo from a local outlet - they came in at 75p a t-shirt,£2 a dress. However, it still looked like I had far too much money and far too little sense.

  15. you are the queen of bargains...i adore my jaeger cardi that you sourced for me + your boden one is another magic find. i completely agree with you about the lifestyle thing even though i really like a flick through a boden catalogue like manys a person. the idea of equal status labels in charity shops is great : )

I am the queen of not finding anything in the charity shops! I know a lot of people who get some fab stuff so I frequent them regularly but am just a hopeless shopper.
