Stella brought round the prototype of a little Florence Hope wooden train the other week including a couple of passengers that my husband has rather taken too. They have to return home soon but the train is staying.
There is nothing like a ‘prop’ to make my day.
Do you like my non-smoking sign?
Stella knocked it up….many years ago I retuned from one of my Belgium jaunts with a pile of craft magazines which are big over there – anyway one of them had lots of decoupage sheets in – this being one of the images.
It’s that lovely vintage 1930’s green that I love so much.
As you know, I too LOVE that green. It reminds me of my Granny's house, geraniums and cherry cake and gingham pinnies. What a lovely world.

Are there good crafty magazines in Belgium then? I'm off in a few weeks for my birthday, I was hoping to get my hands on Marie Claire Idees as I'll be in Brussels.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it is about men and Gollies, my husband would have been taken by these guys too.
ReplyDeleteLove the golliewogs...though not sure that word is allowed these days. How ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen golliwogs for years! I remember that you could take the little labels off Robertsons jam and send them in, I think it was ten of them for a free golly brooch.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big green fan too, and that little sign is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteLove the train and gollies too! x
I LOVE the no smoking sign, I'd rather like one for my kitchen wall!
ReplyDeleteGood old Belgium! ;o)
prop-tastic is all i can say! other than that green is the best!! xxx
ReplyDeleteare you going to be making trains? Is this to be Nigel's craft therapy?

Old fashioned colours are the best! Farrow & Ball has some yummy colours. The their test pots are not that expensive and great for craft.
ReplyDeleteI am over from Kitty's & have enjoyed my visit.
ReplyDeleteI love Gollies!!
Oh I didn't know Belgium was good for craft magazines. Will have to have a search on our next trip there in three weeks time. Actually Simon is there this weekend but he has Forty 15 year olds in tow so thinking he won't have time for looking for craft mags! Love the little sign, especially the colour.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blog you have, so many inspiring projects.
ReplyDeleteThat is a seriously cute prop!
ReplyDeletelove the french sign..and the rusty bird thingy its propped up on..funny how fags can look so cool when they are french and surrounded by vintage green!
Lovin the felt stuff lately...I won't steal it!
