I wait in a very Country Living kind of way for half a ton of seasoned logs.
As the only person able to walk on 2 legs in the Gigibird household I have been slaving in the garage making ready for the log man’s delivery; however with overnight snow I am fearing a telephone call to say he isn’t coming but as he lives a stone’s throw away from me I know he has to come home sometime and he had better have my logs with him.
Harry and I got out early for our daily constitutional and it was lovely with just a few other dog walkers enjoying walking on crisp Virgin snow.
it's always good to get the first set of prints in! the beach looks very dramatic. does harry wear a coat?
ReplyDeletehope your logs arrive so you can get cosy later. we seem to get through ours so quickly these days. today has seen us keep the heating on though! xX
How you will Bless that Log man! There's nothing like a good pile of logs to keep a girl happy!
ReplyDeleteGot mine last week and the log man - My Log Man - said he was rushed off his feet, more people than ever burning wood.

My 'log man' is coming in the morning..I ordered three huge builders bags of 'wood' not exactly logs but joinery offcuts. Then my husband turned up with his car full of actual logs from a castle in Wales so we are all logged out. sending some next door.
ReplyDeleteI'll think of you tomorrow as we are unloading, knowing you'll be doing the same. Still...you know what they asay about wood? It warms you twice.
It sounds like you are going to lurk in the bushes and jump out on the log man!

Thank you for your kind comment re Liberty cast-offs and how gorgeous to find a cashmere jumper - that is so rare! Wishing you the happiest Christmas despite current difficulties, lovely to see the photos of Harry and his paw prints. Snowy hates the hot weather and lies under the kitchen table.
ReplyDeleteHave a very happy Christmas!
