Hamy Hock

I am boiling a ham hock.
There is apparently an art to boiling bacon.....not too fast a boil or the stock will be greasy and no one wants greasy stock do they??

I have a notion of making pea and ham soup.

  6. That sounds fantastic! I have a house full of vegetarians, so I would have to sneak the ham into my own bowl without anyone seeing.....
